Just back from a holiday in Ireland and spent a couple of days in Dublin. The memories came flooding back of the times I was there with Betty and the Old Augies for rugby internationals or on 'in-betweenies' trips'. I remember us sitting in pubs watching the rugby on TV, drinking, chatting away, listening to folk music (and occcasionally contributing). I remember playing Charades and us all being helpless with laughter, or having a huge Irish breakfast in Bewley's. Walking in St Stephen's Green or taking the DART to Howth. Tom Geraghty taking a small group of us to see the view from the top of the SIPTU building. Betty's love for Ireland was infectious. I am glad to have had such happy times there with her.
